Pietro Cascella (1921–2008), Italy’s leading monumental marble sculptor known for his semi-abstract style, created the Pinocchio floor lamp (1972) as a rare functional piece made from wood. Designed with flexibility and adaptability in mind, the lamp features modular, adjustable arms and interlocking mechanisms that allow users to direct light as needed. Cascella emphasized construction over decoration, focusing on geometric forms and raw mechanical elements.
