With his signature architectural precision, Mario Bellini’s Area lamp evokes the form of a blooming flower. Held in the permanent collection of MoMA New York, its undulating shade rests atop a scalloped porcelain base with a subtly textured surface. The bulb, positioned at the center, becomes the flower’s pistil — merging function with poetic form.
