A set of 4 Thonet Model 209. This elegant bentwood classic is a masterpiece of design and manufacture: the protruding bracket, which forms the back and armrests at the same time, is bent into shape in one piece of solid beech wood, consists of only six parts. Due to its aesthetic reduction in connection with the organic form, it almost looks like a sculpture. The Swiss architect Le Corbusier was enthusiastic about it and used it in many of his buildings, including 1927 in the Weißenhof settlement in Stuttgart. He confirmed that this chair "has nobility".
